Welcome to Evangeline!

We love the Umatilla community and have appreciated calling Umatilla home for the past twenty years. After years of wanting more small businesses in our area, we decided to buy the building at 1201 6th Street on blind faith. We knew we wanted a family-friendly location and we wanted to support others in our process. From there, we just trusted it would work out. We were a bit terrified when we signed the papers in December of 2019, but by January of 2020, a vision was starting to come together.
We believed that by splitting the building into smaller areas, we could keep costs down and support one another with staffing support. Fortunately, Lite 'Em Up BBQ and Fruteria Piqui believed in the idea too and they quickly joined forces with us. We realized the town didn't have a gift shop and decided that a gift shop focused on local creators and artists might be a way to really grow the idea of small businesses helping small businesses and opened Evangeline Gifts.
We opened in February of 2020 only to be shut down in March of 2020 with COVID. Thankfully, our community is amazing and we've been blessed with incredible support from people near and far. COVID encouraged us to learn new online skills and we learn to adapt and grow each day.
We started with only our own candles and lotions and quickly expanded thanks to some fun suppliers from across the nation and the incredibly talented people in our area. We've found coffee roasters and artists and crafters and creators of all types and we've loved working with them all. We love finding interesting items and especially enjoy finding ways to team up with local creators. If you're interested in becoming a vendor, please email us at evangelinedesignllc@gmail.com.
